Mt Vinson

The last phase of the project is an attempt on Mount Vinson in Antarctica. This will present the largest financial and logistical challenge of all, but will be an experience of a lifetime.

At 4897m Mt Vinson is the second lowest of the 7summit peaks. What it lacks in altitude it more than makes up for in difficulty due to its location in one of the coldest, most windswept and remote places on the planet.

Due to the potentially extreme conditions on the ice shelf and that not every mountaineer's idea of fun is spending 14days on ice in sub zero temperatures along with 24hr daylight we are also organising a trip to Patagonia.  This expedition is aimed at Scouts who wish to gain experience on big mountains in a fantastic setting but who feel they don't have the experience to visit Antartica yet.
