Cameron Bell

I started off Scouting in the Cub scouts in Stewarton, and remained with the group until joining the Kirkland Venture Scout Unit at 16. My involvement here kick-started my outdoor interests (hillwalking,
mountaineering etc). I remained with the unit until Venture Scouts were formally dissolved in 2002/2003. Then spent 2 years as a helper with the local Explorer Scouts, as well as being an active fellowship member for about the last 8 years.
Initially I had wanted to be a member of the summit team but was unable to make the commitment required at the time to be a part of the team. I will now be able to fulfill part of my dream by visiting base camp and climbing Island Peak.
Michael Carachi

Michael is an Assistant Scout Leader from Glasgow
John Edwards

John is currently an Explorer leader in the Leith district of Edinburgh.
Sarah Hyde

I am an active member of the Glasgow Area scout hill program and have been a hills assessor for a couple of years years. The program is designed to train scouts how to enjoy the hills safely and hopefully eventually gain MLTB awards. This has helped me to gain the Summer and Winter mountain leader qualifications whilst teaching younger members about mountaineering.
I have always wanted to visit Nepal and thought that going with like minded people and carrying out some community work whilst there would all add to the experience.
